Salma Hayek
Salma Hayek Pinault, born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jamesenez , on September 2, 1966 is an American and Mexican actor and producer. She started her career in Mexico by playing a lead role in the television drama Teresa (1989-1991) as and the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) for which she received an Ariel Award nomination. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) were just a few of her many Hollywood credits. Hayek's portrayal as painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) which she also produced and directed, was the first Mexican actress to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress[6In addition, she earned her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek starred in the action-oriented Once Upon a Time in Mexico pictures in the following years , and shifted her focus to making films.
