Madekwe comes from a mixed-race family from South London in England. She is English but her father was Nigerian. She went to The Brit School when she was 14 years old. She studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. While at the school, she was a part-time actor in numerous performances on stage, such as The King Henry V playing Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe got her start in acting by starring in a movie titled Storm Damage. Since then, she has appeared in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's film debut was in Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), alongside Colin Farrell. The following year she portrayed Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally she was a part of Trexx as Ollie as well as six episodes of Flipside. In 2008, Madekwe landed Bambi, the lead role in the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was the main character on How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others, a comedic comedy that was released in the year 2008. Some of her theatre credits are Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) as well as Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe first aired in the US with The Beautiful Life. The drama program aired at The CW for only two episodes, but it was ended. In February, she was cast 2011 as Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. After being a regular for the first two seasons, the show was announced late May 2013 that Madekwe would quit the show following an appearance as a guest in the first episode in the season's third. Madekwe starred as Tituba in the TV show Salem from 2014 until the year 2016. Then, in June of 2012 Madekwe was married to her long-time love, actor Iddo Goldberg. They've worked together in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl and also played a part with her on the show Salem.

Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress was born into a large family in Hamilton, Ontario. She was raised by both parents Roy and Patty together with four older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. The brothers of Ashley were extremely athletic, and they played baseball as well as hockey during the winter and summer months. Her childhood was spent in stadiums and played baseball. Ashley could not walk but was able to dance. As a result, at the age of 2, she discovered Baby Ballet. That was the start of Ashley's love for dancing. Ashley participated in the top divisions for jazz, tap hip hop, ballet the lyrical musical theatre, acrobatics as well as pointe until the time she completed in high school. The major dance festivals, like International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and others, have awarded her with the honor of "top Soloist".
